Abstract
This 4D feasibility study for a pre-salt reservoir in Santos basin covers distinct carbonate rocks – stromatolites, grainstones and coquinas, both from Aptian age. The study uses the 3D simulation model as input data and converts its static and dynamic properties into elastic properties and synthetic seismic data. The methodology incorporates two different NRMS noise levels in order to understand the impact of repeatability on the quality of 4D signal.
The use of synthetic data allows, besides the choose of the best time and the best method of 4D seismic acquisition, previous analysis of 4D interpretation, showing which should be the proper attributes to highlight each expected 4D effect and the main issues of the use of 4D seismic data to identify reservoir production characteristics.
The final results points to the possibility of detect the main production effects in seismic data with very high level of repeatability. That way, besides amplitude data interpretation, poisson's ratio or V_P/V_S changes analysis can help the gas front identification, and time-shift can recognize the pressure anomalies zones.
