Abstract

Summary

Local slope, as one of the key attributes of locally coherent events, has been a hot research issue for decades in seismic data processing. However, the estimation of local slopes for intersecting events is still challenging. In this paper, we first detail the multimodality of coherency of intersecting events in the slope domain, and then introduce a multimodal optimization method called neighborhood based crowding differential evolution (NCDE) algorithm to capture their local slopes simultaneously. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method on both normal gather and super-gather.
