Abstract
Velocity Model Building and Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM) are two fundamental tools for seismic exploration, especially for the prospect de-risking phase. Improving the resolution of both seismic images and estimated subsurface models is currently one of the main challenges for the oil and gas industry. In this work we show the results of a PSDM project which aim was the delineation of a prospect in a carbonate platform. In order to achieve the best possible results in terms of both resolution and reliability, we applied anisotropic TTI reflection grid tomography, robust FWI on reflection events and Q-compensated depth migration. The results are an accurate and high resolution anisotropic velocity model of the subsurface and an extended bandwidth seismic image with which we could assess at best the properties of the prospect under investigation.
