Abstract
Summary
Seismic interferometry methods can be used to transform VSP data to virtual surface recordings and migrated for much larger image in the lateral directions. Here, we show that VSP to surface seismic interferometric transform using only a limited number of geophones in the borehole can produce an image of the subsurface that is comparable to image derived from 3D surface seismic data and can significantly enlarge the imaging zone compared to standard VSP migration.
