Abstract
Summary
Subsidence poses a serious risk to tension leg platforms, pipeline systems and the related infrastructure. Large-scale low-velocity anomalies indicate the subsidence zones. However, the direct estimation of the velocity anomalies from the 4D OBN data is not always possible due to the significant velocity variations in the water layer. In order to overcome this problem, we propose to construct virtual diving waves. 4D timeshifts of the virtual diving waves turn out to be very sensitive to the artificial node statics and OBN coordinates. Hence, they may be used not only for localization of the shallow velocity anomalies, but also for the QC of the raw OBN data.
