Abstract

Summary

Is it possible to improve models from previous legacy studies or is it necessary to create them from scratch? The main idea turns around performing right models within a reasonable amount of time ensuring that they are accurate as needed. Right model or accurate models? A brown field producing since mid 90's was the focus of the present study. The perspective was to work with real data from several disciplines aligned within a coupled static and dynamic workflow. The analysis proposes a 3D model optimization methodology aiming to capture the production and the dynamic well behavior with an end goal to predict optimum investment opportunities. To accomplish this task, wells permeability have been calibrated with DST and PLT. Permeability was the primary property and therefore the main element to be calibrated. This parameter is most likely an input from petrophysics rather than from simulations outputs to avoid changes from multipliers. The coupled workflow permits to update the complete model at the same time as new data becomes available.
