Abstract

Summary

The paper presents workflow to provide recovery of fracture characteristics from seismic data. We present a discrete fracture modeling technique that properly describes fracture models on a seismic scale and we propose a combination of diffraction imaging and topological analysis of the diffraction images that provides recovery of discrete fractures modeling parameters. Numerical examples on synthetic models demonstrate detailed reliable reconstruction of the statistical characteristics of the fracture corridors.
