Abstract
The Heidrun field is a mature oil field with a long and successful history of geophysical reservoir monitoring. In this abstract it is shown how the 4D seismic data is used in well planning and for reservoir management on the Heidrun field. The 4D observations are described and discussed in multidisciplinary groups, with focus on different parts of the reservoir, and are input to flooding maps. Flooding maps illustrate the current fluid distribution in different reservoir layers and are used in reservoir management and target maturation. Petro-elastic modelling (PEM) is used to generate synthetic changes in acoustic impedance, based on parameters taken from the reservoir model. Running a script that automatically generates maps and creates various displays where the results from the PEM are shown together with the observed 4D data facilitates easy comparison. This comparison helps to evaluate the degree of match between reservoir model and actual 4D response.
