Abstract
With the increasing difficulty of exploration and oil development, the broadband seismic has gotten more attention. At present variable-depth streamer acquisition is generally considered one of the most popular methods to obtain broadband seismic data. In this paper, we propose a new deghosting method of variable-depth streamer seismic data which based on the iterative inversion of wave equation. The recorded data is first used to create mirror data through wave-field extrapolation in the shot domain, then both the recorded and mirror data are used to get the receiver ghost free seismic data by using the iterative inversion of conjugate gradient algorithm. The method can also be used to remove the source ghost. We demonstrate with both synthetics and real data that our deghosting method can reliably remove the ghost of the variable-depth streamer seismic data.
