Abstract
Summary
In our experiments, we investigated the effect of brine on the characteristic frequency and attenuation peaks for a reservoir sandstone. We observed two-attenuation peaks which may be caused by the combination of two different fluid flow mechanisms. Two poroelatic models and two squirt mechanisms are used to investigate the cause of the attenuation and dispersion. Based on these observations and analysis, we attribute the modulus and attenuation to drained/undrained regime and relaxed/unrelaxed regime.
