Abstract

Summary

The Achimov horizons are deep-water sandy and clay strata's associated with the fondoform part of the Neocomian cyclic wedges. Reserve recovery in these deposits is still less than 10 percent, with a mere handful of license projects in which the Achimov horizons have entered the commercial production phase despite dozens of years of research on the Achimov's geology. This is due to the complicated geological architecture of the horizons, their vertical and lateral heterogeneity, low porosity and permeability, and high water saturation.

The geological model covered 20 Gazprom Neft licensed areas with an area of 15.5 thousand square kilometers. 10 zonal cyclites of the Valanginian age were identified within the study area. A total of 320 lithologically limited objects were mapped, more than 200 of which are prospective for the search, exploration and development of hydrocarbons. 2D probabilistic assessment was performed for all objects.

The Achimov formation has a complex geological structure, due to the combination of different facies within one object. For correct modelling and mapping of Achimov bodies it is necessary to combine electrofacial, core, dynamic, spectral analyzes and work with paleosurfaces (under-counting one of the studies reduces the quality of geological models).
