Abstract

Summary

A gas reservoir in the west China has been put into development for more than ten years. The activities of the edge and bottom water are strong, and some wells have been flooded, but the gas-water interface uplift between wells is unknown. To this end, two microgravity surveys were performed in this gas reservoir, and time-lapse microgravity data were obtained. The water intrusion characteristics of the gas reservoir were studied by using time-lapse microgravity data, and the uplift of the gas-water interface during the monitoring period was obtained through inversion. Studies have shown that the time-lapse microgravity method can monitor the water intrusion of gas reservoirs as a whole, and is an effective monitoring method for gas reservoir development.
