Abstract
Summary
Normal faults in clastic sequences are segmented at a range of scales, but often only a single localised fault can be identified on seismic reflection data due to limited lateral resolution. Seismically invisible fault segmentation and associated displacement partitioning can cause unexpected across-fault communication. In this presentation we describe new algorithms and software for modelling subs-seismic fault segmentation in reservoir geomodels, and for risking its effect on across-fault juxtaposition (FaultMaker).
