Abstract

Summary

A horizontal well was planned to be placed in two target intervals within limestone formation. The pre-job study was performed to identify the best fit LWD technology for the two target intervals. Due to the difference in properties, different measurements and technologies were chosen. The application of the carefully chosen technologies proved their effectiveness and relevance and enabled successful geosteering, improved structural behavior understanding and made it possible to evaluate petrophysical properties of the reservoir rock in real time.
