Abstract

Summary

Based on 8000 drilled wells the critical factors were determined, influencing of geosteering efficiency, and their contribution were defined. The method of estimation of geosteering difficulty index (GDI) of horizontal wells is created. The classification of wells according to GDI were done, which will further allow us significantly optimize the resources in the planning and drilling of horizontal wells (design documents, time, personnel, composition of BHA, etc.) and improve the efficiency of geosteering.
