Abstract
Nowadays profitable oil production from low-permeable reservoirs is possible only by reservoir development acquiring horizontal wells. One of the methods for controlling the parameters of fluid drainage into horizontal wells is a conventional production logging survey consisting of mechanical spinner, temperature survey etc. Production flow profile identification in the horizontal wells drilled to carbonate reservoir is challenged not only by the influence of complex well construction, but also by low specific inflows along a horizontal well. This paper presents some cases on production profile identification in producing horizontal wells at low pressure drop, which were surveyed by spectral noise logging to detect active reservoir zones along the horizontal wellbore. Temperature modelling was used to quantify the inflow profile in these cases. All performed surveys consisted of gas lift based flowing and shut-in measurements in order to increase the informative and accuracy of the production logging survey.
