Abstract

Summary

We develop a new approach to locate very shallow subsurface objects using seismic diffractions of low signal-to-noise ratio. In our approach we use the diffraction arrivals recorded from the subsurface objects. To image the objects, we apply spatial instantaneous-phase-coherency summation along diffraction hyperbolae. We demonstrate the performance of our method using synthetic and field data.
