Abstract

Summary

The transient electromagnetic method in the near field zone (TEM) is widely used for oil and gas exploration in the Eastern and Western Siberia geological patterns. To assess the possible effectiveness of TEM in certain geological settings, a special technique of forward TEM modeling has been developed. The paper shows innovative approaches to the TEM forward modeling. It is shown that the synthetic simulation of the TEM signals makes it possible to evaluate the possibility of separating promising zones with different reservoir saturation.
