Summary:
The area of work included the land of South Sakhalin from the latitude of the northern coast of Lunsky Bay to Cape Krilion in the south. The aim of the work was to determine the prospects for the development of the hydrocarbon resource base by studying the intermountain depressions of the South Sakhalin Basin, as well as the formation of an integrated approach to the study of territories with extremely low knowledge. The key tasks that had to be solved were the creation of a geological model of the studied region, the selection of the most promising Mesozoic and Cenozoic horizons and the determination of the necessary conditions for the generation of hydrocarbons.
