The truth, inconvenient perhaps but evident nonetheless, is that we are still far from done exploring for oil and gas. As our technology lets us explore in deeper water we are gaining a new understanding of the hydrocarbon systems active on the world’s passive margins, which will allow us to find where we had not looked, or we overlooked before. We have a vision of future demand for fossil fuel energy growing year by year, pulling people out of poverty all over the globe, bringing wealth, energy and opportunity. A key question for us though is which new arenas are looking promising to supply the oil and gas that will meet future hydrocarbon and energy demands?
