Summary:
Alternative energy are a rising resources of the oil and gas industry. Although fossil fuel is still the main resource to supply the ramping demand of world energy, the unconventional resource has been gaining its own spotlight since it has been introduced to the industry. One of the unconventional resources type is shale oil. Shale oil is different from the conventional reservoir shale as it is not a non-reservoir layer. The shale can act simultaneously as source, trap and reservoir rock. The hydrocarbon inside the shale comes from organic matters which are called kerogen. “Dripping Nanodarcies Oil from Shale” is a technical presentation which will discuss on whole topic of shale oil, from the characteristic of the reservoir to the methodologies on evaluating those kind of reservoirs. This presentation will also include on the core analysis used for parameter evaluation of best estimate oil in place in shale oil reservoir
