Abstract

Summary

Logging data in geothermal projects are essential during the subsequent stages. Within these stages, different tasks have to be fulfilled, where logging data must be available. We define the stages of a geothermal project as initiation, exploration, development and mature. The general aspects within these stages are well paths, distribution and integrity and the reservoir model. In the course of a project, new data may be acquired to improve the reservoir model for the remaining stages. In our research projects, we applied various methods used in the oil and gas industry for geothermal use. They comprise permeability and porosity calculations, fracture determination, compressional/shear wave ratio and impedance calculations. We show how these investigations fit into the progress of a geothermal project.
